Eddie has confirmed that he will switch to the heavyweight category from round 3 onwards. The decision was made after two races in which he has weighed in over a kilogram over the maximum weight for the lightweight class.
"I spke to John Vigor this afternoon to request a change of category. He seemed quite concerned about the possibility of me losing weight during the Summer months, which is a real possibility, but I'm just doing myself no favours at all being this heavy. I just think I have to take the risk."
Eddie runs a high risk of being disqualified if he is found to be under 80KG at any time.
