IMSD Racing team manager, Stephen Deuchar has expressed his happiness with the team's performance over the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. The quartet of drivers - Stephen Deuchar, Ian Miller, Ian Wilson and Eddie Hall, had an eventful weekend with various mechanical gremlins but still managed to come home a more than respectable 16th out of a 35 kart grid. Team manager Stephen Deuchar said.
"I was really impressed with the performance of the whole team. I'd particularly like to congratulate Eddie Hall on his excellent qualifying performance for race 2 - 10th on a grid of 34 top drivers and less than 0.7 seconds off pole - and for his very strong race pace all weekend. I also have good memories of some of the overtaking manoeuvres of Ian Wilson, including out-braking eventual winner Trevor Randall of Essex TT on one occasion, and of the extremely fast and consistent pace set by IMSD regular Ian Miller. Pit crew chief Seth Scott Deuchar also worked hard and enthusiastically on race strategy and pit stops, in close collaboration with Richard Hall. Our drivers loved the circuit, but we wished we could have combined our race 1 chassis with our race 2 engine: as it was, we had a slow but good-handling kart on day one, and a fast but nervous one on day two. I've no doubt we could have achieved a top ten finish if we'd not had those problems, but that's what we'll be aiming for next year....."
Eddie shared Stephen's sentiments. "I thought everyone in the team did a brilliant job. We were all consistent and made very few mistakes. Our pitstops were fantastic and the team strategists, lead by Seth Deuchar, did an amazing job. Credit must go to all the guys - what a fantastic weekend, I can't wait to do it all again!"
