On the day when IMSD Racing lost any mathematical chance of winning the Premier Clubman championship, they also lost their crown as reigning Inters Champions.
After 377 days at the top, IMSD Racing handed their crown to old City Challenge sparring partners, RBB Economics Racing.
Like IMSD, RBB clinched the championship with a race win at the penultimate round. The team were championship rivals of IMSD Racing in the City Challenge championship in 2004.
Eddie and Stephen have both publicly congratulated their successors. Eddie, although admitting to feeling a bit sad to losing the crown, was full of praise to their successors.
“Although I don’t really know them that well, I have seen them in action a few times and they certainly seem to be pretty quick. I know that there is a bit of history there between IMSD and RBB - they were the team’s main championship rival a couple of years ago, but that was before my time.
“They have obviously done a great job this year and I look forward to competing with them next year in the Premier Championship.”
