With the opening round of the 2007 Premier Championship this weekend, Eddie has been giving his predictions for the upcoming season.
After a mixed 2006 season, IMSD Racing face their biggest challenge yet moving up to the top level of the Club100 Endurance ladder.
“I think this is going to be a very difficult year. Last year we struggled and we certainly didn’t perform as well as we should have done but we still had a few podium finishes and of course that second win at Spa.
“I think a win is out of the question this year and even a podium is going to be a tall order but I would like to think we could be knocking on the door of the top teams at a couple of rounds.”
The team has already stated that its goal is to finish the championship inside the top 10 and Eddie certainly thinks that this is more than realistic.
”I think as long as we don’t make the mistakes we made last year, especially in not getting the kart sorted in practice, we should easily finish in the top 10. I just hope that we have the consistency throughout the year.
“I think all of us will admit that we didn’t do the best job last year. We never really got on top of the race strategy and our pit work was a bit dodgy at times. I think that as long as we can learn from our mistakes and do a better job in those areas we should do better. We are all pretty safe on the track.”
2007 has already got off to a promising start with Eddie claiming third at the last round of the BPKDC Man of Steel Championship and Seth winning his first rookie endurance race at Buckmore Park.
“Obviously it’s a good start to the year and of course Seth is making his debut in the Sprint Championship this year, which is great! I’ll certainly be watching his progress with great interest. I think we better make the most out of these successes because we are going to face a tough 2007 in the endurance series.”
