After weeks of intense negotiations, Eddie has finally announced his entry into this year’s Le Mans 24 Hour race.
With three possible seats up for grabs, Eddie has settled for one of the top two seats in the BrightonUni squad. He will be teamed with former IMSD Racing stable mates Stephen and Seth Deuchar as well as Ashley Evans and possibly Dan Gore. They will drive in the second of 5 teams, with Jordan Hill, Pete O’Connor and Stuart Davies forming the other team that will be challenging for the win.
There was a lot of uncertainty over which of the two seats Eddie would drive for, but it was finally agreed by all parties that he would partner Stephen in the second kart.
Eddie was enthusiastic about finally getting the chance to race at Le Mans.
“Obviously I’m very happy. I missed the opportunity to race here last year because of various reasons but I’m really happy to be able to do it this year and also be part of a team that is capable of really challenging for the win.
“It’s great to be driving with Stephen again. We have enjoyed so much success over the past few years in IMSD Racing and I’m looking forward to hopefully enjoying a bit more in July. I’m obviously disappointed not to be racing alongside Jordan, but there wasn’t really the opportunity for all of us to be in the same kart, and Steve and I made a commitment a long time ago to race together. I think Jordan would have liked to have worked things differently as well but we will are all effectively still team-mates so I think everyone should be happy.”
The top 2 teams consist of a number of top drivers from Club100 Endurance racing including IMSD Racing, RBB and Sugar Hut – something that Eddie is very excited about.
“The drivers we have racing together would be capable of challenging for podium finishes in the Premier Endurance series so I don’t see why both teams can’t challenge for the win here.”
