Eddie was terribly disappointed after what he considered to be a very poor showing at Clay Pigeon.
Eddie, who again had never been to the circuit before, started third in heat 1 but spun at the first corner after trying an optimistic move at the start.
"I got a good run out of turn 7 and tried for the inside at turn 1. I realised too late that I wouldn't make the move stick and locked up. It was a really stupid mistake and it ended up costing me."
Eddie did take advantage of the situation to learn the circuit and ended up finishing a disappointing 15th after a fantastic battle with Michael Mcanery.
His second and third heats were fairly uneventful with Eddie finishing in the same positions as he started, 12th and 13th respectively. His second heat again produced another nail biting finish as Eddie finished just 3 hundredths of a second of Oliver Robinson. Heat 3 was ruined when his kart developed a pick up problem 3 laps from the end when he was running in the top 10.
With, by his own admission, very poor performances in his heats, Eddie was surprised to start ninth on the grid for the C Final. Eddie finally found some speed and make excellent progress in the opening laps. By half distance he was up to fourth place, pulling away from the rest of the field and challenging hard for third and second. Coming up to turn 1, Eddie again made a lunge for third and briefly got it before remembering his earlier mistake and backing off. This caused him to go in too deep and Eddie lost his position at the next corner, losing a position in the B Final in the process. Eddie fought back hard over the last lap and just failed to get past by under half a second!
Despite this perfomance, Eddie was not at all happy with his days racing.
"I just drove like an old tart early in the day and I should have done better than I did so it doesn't really make me feel any better".
