Eddie secured victory over nearest rival Andrew Johnson to keep his championship defence alive. After mixed weather conditions, Eddie won the hour endurance race by nearly 4 seconds.
With the circuit having been flooded in the morning, the rain eased up as practice started. The circuit was dry by the time qualifying started and Eddie put it second on the grid for the third consecutive race just behind Lee Clackett. Johnson was third with the vMax team fourth and Glen Beard fifth out of the relatively small 23 kart field.
Eddie made a good start and briefly took the lead halfway round the opening lap. However, Clackett came back and pushed Eddie offline, dropping him to fifth. Over the next few laps, an intense battle emerged between the top 5. Eddie quickly reeled in vMax, Clackett and Beard and tailed Johnson for the opening 20 minutes as the duo pulled a clear gap over the rest of the field. A brief rain shower caused a number of spinners further back but there were no such dramas at the front as Hall and Johnson extended their gap, swapping places a number of times in the slippery conditions.
It was once again his speed in the pits that worked to his advantage and Eddie emerged 3 seconds clear of Johnson. Over the last 40 minutes, he maintained a comfortable gap. Having had his race ruined by backmarkers twice this year, Eddie was fairly tentative when lapping slower karts but he nevertheless maintained a comfortable cushion and eventually crossed the line to take his first win of the season.
