With the 2013 calendar set to be announced later this week, Eddie is yet to finalise his plans for next season, insisting he will wait until the end of the year before making a decision on his future.
Having struggled in the sprint championship, Eddie switched from the lightweight to the heavyweight sprint championship for the final 3 races of the year and stated he wanted to evaluate his performance to help make a decision on what he will do next year. The premier endurance championship has also been disappointing this year and Eddie has made no secret of his frustration at recent races. Despite losing his crown as Open endurance championship, Eddie has achieved the most success in that series again this year but admitted he is unsure whether he will compete in 3 championships again next year.
With 5 races still to run (2 sprint races, 2 premier endurance races and 1 open endurance race), Eddie said he is in no hurry to make a decision on 2013 and is focussing on performing well in the last few races. Asked whether any announcements would be made before Christmas, Eddie simply replied “No idea.”
