Having made the A final, Eddie won the "rookie of the day" award for his efforts. Having made the A final, Eddie will now lose his rookie status and any chance of winning the rookie championship.
"I am a little gutted to be honest" was Eddie's comment after the race "I have been steadily improving all year and it would have been nice to go away with a championship of some kind, but I have got to look at the big picture. Getting into the A final is better than being classified a 'rookie' and it is the overall championship table that matters at the end of the day."
Eddie will now lose his yellow number plate and it will be replaced with a blue one.
However, at the time of writing, Eddie's result in the A final is under threat after he cut through the escape road after an ambitious overtaking move on the last lap.
